Program Descriptions

Parent & Tot

A parent supported 30 minute PreCanSkate class, this program is designed for our young ones ages 2-4yrs who can’t wait to get on the ice, but could benefit from the support of their parent or grown-up. Parents who are confident in their own skating abilities will join the class as a support and demonstrator for their young ones. Helmets are required on all participants (including adults) as per Skate Canada policy. Graduates of our Parent & Tot program will be ready to try PreCanSkate on their own, or progress to our CanSkate program, age dependent. CSA Approved Safety Helmets must be worn.

PreCanSkate

Our 30 minute entry-level program, PreCanSkate, is specially designed for beginners ages 3-5. By creating a positive and inclusive environment, we aim to build your child's confidence on the ice and foster a love of skating. Children will be placed into groups based on their abilities. Our NCCP Certified Skate Canada Coaches will lead the classes, assisted by volunteer Program Assistants. Together, they create an environment where learning to skate is fun! Our instructors use a play based model that will teach learning to stand, balancing, and moving both forwards and backwards on the ice with confidence. Skaters graduating from our PreCanSkate program will be ready for CanSkate. CSA Approved Safety Helmets must be worn.

Geared towards new skaters ages 13+ our Teen & Adult CanSkate program teaches fundamental movements and basic skills.
